This resulted in the creation of Vilja, a Nord alchemist designed to keep Emma company as she traversed the world of Oblivion.

However, what many people don't know is that the knighted author was also a massive fan of video games - so much so that he actually worked on mods for Oblivion, most of which were spearheaded by a Morrowind modder named Emma.Īfter making the transition from Morrowind to Oblivion, Emma sought to create a companion for herself.

Most people know Pratchett as the author of Discworld, the famous fantasy series about a flat planet balanced on the backs of four elephants. In his Foreword to The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Fantasy, the late Sir Terry Pratchett writes, "Imagination, not intelligence, made us human." Peeps can make their own easy enough if you have some tools and basic skills.Imagination, not intelligence, made us human. Another advantage is that the short strips would be a lot easier to ship! Best of both worlds, adjustable like nuts but easy to get screws started like strips. I think some manufacturer should take advantage of my idea and make threaded strips in 10 and 4 HP lengths with trimmed ends. This gave me a couple sections of "sliding threaded strips" and solved the problem.

Something I did recently to get some modules to fit that wouldn't work was to cut a couple chunks of the threaded strip off very close to the holes and then trim the opposite ends very close to the holes.

Hence sometimes if one module is a bit wider or narrower you can face with a problem that you are having a gap between modules and you can't move that gap. Some manufacturers make simple circle hole in the faceplate for mounting to the rails, not a slotted holes. I went ahead and bought M3 strips and screws because it just annoys me so much.įunkyjunky wrote:I am observing one major disadvantage when using threaded inserts. This might be the result of using M2.5 sliding nuts with Synthrotek rails, but that's how they sell them. But often the nuts would shoot off to one side anyway as I tried to tighten the screw, and I'd have to start over.

I've been using Erthenvar Super Seven hex screws and the driver they sell, which is small enough to align nuts through panel holes. You can only fit so many nuts between modules, if you want everything to fit, and sometimes you have to unscrew a module just to get those extras out of the way. I have found so far, despite leaving spare nuts where I can and being able to slide modules around, the number of times that actually helps turns out to be fairly rare, and I still have to unscrew multiple modules to put things where I want them.

Also a good thin screwdriver is required so that you can move the slidind nut with its tip. There is a rule of thumb when using sliding nuts: make sure you have a lot of them in the rails and don't forget to leave 4-6 nuts between any two modules. With Sliding nuts you can easily slide modules with loose screws on it. Funkyjunky wrote: Also, you can't slide the module to replace its position or to insert a module between two modules that are already mounted - each time you had to pull off all the screws out of all modules.
